June 27, 2010:
Outlaw TT race to benefit Cole Crowley's fund to get to the
Nationals in DuQuoin exceeded expectations.  It was a model
of People Caring About "That Kid"....  It was 103 degrees
for most of the day, yet no one complained about the heat.
Donnie Rasmussen's 92 year old dad who sat out in the heat
with the rest of us, donated $1,000 directly to Cole. People
were peeling off $20 dollar bills by the handful to buy
raffle tickets.  Our wonderful donors (listed below) gave up
the raffle items so that folks would be encouraged to peel
off those $20's! Kevin Johansen of Johansen and Jory Racing
ponied up $1000 for a Pro Purse and $500 for a Dash 4 Cash.
 Then there was Brad Lackey, donating 100 T-shirts with
Cole's photo on the front so that all of the racers could
have a free shirt.  The rest we sold and gave the money to
Cole.  BBQ Bob created a delicious meal of Tri-Tip and
garlic fries for only $5, then donated the entire $385
income to Cole (besides donating the cost of the food). 
Fuzzy Beeching (our First Responder Medic) was available for
medical emergencies (of which there was only one
hyper-extended knee...no broken bones or ugly get-offs..),
as well as helping to run the race, and wouldn't accept any
cash for his work.  Ernie Fine, whose Disciples M.M.C. also
donated cash to the cause, was out in the heat, staging each
group of riders into their appropriate motos.  Jessica
Beeching and her friend, Hanna Collver, sat trackside, no
shade, scoring laps all day.  Donnie Rasmussen picked up the
slack everywhere else.  It wasn't just Phil and me.  What a
great day!
